James served his country in various countries living on the local economies in most locations. He met his wife of 25 years while serving in Germany; where he also learned the true meaning of a “5th floor walk up.” Living on local economies help James to develop a true sense of the numerous housing standards around the world. James moved some 30 times during his 24 year military career. Having traveled extensively in America, Europe and the Pacific Rim countries, James is often asked why he settled in San Antonio. James said that it goes back to June of 1972 when he first saw San Antonio as that impressionable, young recruit in the United States Air Force. As he set foot on the tarmac at San Antonio International Airport, he felt his heart had made a connection that would endure the test of time. From that moment on, James knew one day he would call San Antonio home.
