San Antonio Express News Headline “S.A. HOME-PRICE FALL IS BIGGEST IN DECADE (-7%).” I say where did that come from because just last week I said home prices where flat to increasing in San Antonio…I did mention depending on zip code. I have to say that I was concentrating on too narrow a market and should not have made a general statement about the San Antonio market.
Okay, another word on falling home prices! If you are in the market for a home you may feel pressured to buy now. An old axiom in real estate as in the stock market is do not try to time the market. Make your decision based on your individual circumstances at the present and the truly foreseeable future. In other words do not stretch yourself on an affordable priced home that is going to eat you alive in upkeep. Remember the true cost of owning a home is not just making the mortgage payment.
This trend in San Antonio makes green built and remodels homes even more attractive. The simple fact they tend to be less expensive to operate and hold their value is a win-win situation for anyone buying a home.
